Cookies and Analytics

Transparency on site cookies and optional usage measurement for The Filling Lab Ltd - Alongside our general privacy information.

Last updated: 18 April 2026. This notice sits alongside our Privacy policy. We may update this page when our tools or legal requirements change.

1. Who we are

The Filling Lab Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) controls how cookies and analytics run on this website. Registered address: Unit 1A, Mikar Business Park, Bolton, BL3 6RE.

Contact: Nizam@thefillinglab.co.uk or Mike@thefillinglab.co.uk. Please put “Cookies” or “Analytics” in the subject line if your question relates specifically to this notice.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a site. They can be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by a service we use, such as Google when analytics is enabled). Similar technologies (for example local storage) may be used for the same kinds of purposes described here.

3. How we use cookies

We group usage into two layers:

  • Essential / strictly necessary - Limited technical data needed to run the site securely and to remember the choice you make in our cookie banner (for example storing your preference in your browser so we do not ask on every visit). We treat these as necessary for the service you request when you use the site.
  • Analytics (optional) - If you click Accept analytics on the banner, we may load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect aggregated statistics about pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and similar usage signals. We do not use that signal to sell personal data or to run behavioural advertising on this site.

If you choose Essential only, we do not load GA4; only the essential layer above applies.

4. Google Analytics 4 (when enabled)

Where our developers configure a measurement ID (NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_MEASUREMENT_ID), GA4 runs only after you accept analytics. Google operates the service; their processing is described in Google’s documentation and privacy materials. Typical data includes pseudonymous identifiers, coarse interaction data and diagnostics to help us understand which content is useful.

You can withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing site data for this domain in your browser and revisiting the site - The banner will appear again - Or by contacting us and we will advise on any additional controls we add (for example a dedicated preference centre in a future release).

5. Lawful bases

For essential cookies and similar storage strictly needed to operate the site and remember your consent choice, we rely on legitimate interests (and where applicable the ePrivacy / PECR exemption for strictly necessary storage). For GA4, we rely on your consent when you click Accept analytics, in line with UK GDPR and applicable guidance.

6. Retention

Banner preferences are kept locally until you clear them. GA4 retention is configured in our Google Analytics property (Google’s default and any adjustments we apply). We aim to keep analytics retention proportionate to business need.

7. Your choices

  • Use the cookie banner when it appears: Essential only or Accept analytics.
  • Use browser settings to block or delete cookies and site data for any website you visit.
  • Read our Privacy policy for broader information about personal data from enquiries and the RFQ.

8. Children

This site is aimed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly use analytics to profile children.

9. Disclaimer

This page summarises our approach in plain English. It is not legal advice. Your solicitor should confirm wording against your contracts, insurance and jurisdictions.
